Currently, we are seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist with experience in community mental health to join our team.

Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team, providing high-quality care to individuals in the community with mental health needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with service users, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, person-centered interventions aimed at promoting independence, recovery, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users’ functional abilities, strengths, and needs within the community setting.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice, and service user goals.
  • Provide a range of occupational therapy interventions, including activity and task analysis, cognitive-behavioral techniques, sensory integration, and environmental modifications, to support service users in achieving their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, and carers to develop therapeutic relationships and empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals, social care agencies, and community resources to coordinate integrated and seamless care for service users.
  • Offer advice, support, and education to service users, families, and caregivers on managing daily activities, coping strategies, and promoting mental health and well-being in the community.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including clinical records, progress notes, and outcome measures, in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist, with specific experience in community mental health preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, recovery-oriented practice, and the social determinants of health.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and therapeutic skills, with the ability to engage service users in meaningful occupation and promote independence and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • Must hold a UK  driving license and access to a car.
