Description

Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist specialising in strokes and neurological conditions?

Pulse is seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our client’s acute stroke unit at a well-established NHS trust in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The role is available for the successful therapist to start on 21.07.23, offering full-time hours per week with the placement due to end on 21.10.23.

The postholder will be assessing and treating patients within the acute stroke unit, they will support patients recover from a stroke. Applying therapists must have previous experience in acute or community stroke care, team lead experience is also important for this role.  

Duties within this role will include:

  • Initial assessments/brain injury assessments
  • Rehabilitation
  • Help to develop skills
  • Increase range of motion
  • Providing support and advice to carers and family members
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Managing own caseload

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Have significant neuro/stroke experience
  • Be patient and communicative towards patients with a range of neuro conditions
