Job Title: Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner with Eating Disorder Experience

Position Overview: The role of the clinician will be to undertake clinician of the day roles triage new assessments of new referrals received into the Eating disorders Service. To assess CYP with suspected eating disorders. To hold a caseload of patients for weekly therapy sessions and support psychoeducation/weight restoration working with families and CYP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and adolescents presenting with eating disorders, including an evaluation of physical, psychological, and social factors.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams, incorporating evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to individuals and families regarding the nature of eating disorders, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and promoting recovery.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to the unique needs and developmental stages of clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment progress regularly, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and safety.
  • Collaborate with community resources, schools, and other agencies to provide coordinated and holistic support to individuals with eating disorders and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcome measures in accordance with professional and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Clinical Psychologist, or other relevant healthcare professional with current registration and professional licensure.
  • Substantial experience working within CAMHS settings, with a focus on treating eating disorders.
  • Specialized training and/or certification in evidence-based interventions for eating disorders, such as CBT-E, FBT, or DBT.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive formulations and treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of professional practice, including ongoing training and development in the field of eating disorders and CAMHS.
