Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Band 6

Position Overview: As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality and evidence-based occupational therapy services to individuals with mental health conditions. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing their functional abilities, promoting independence, and fostering a sense of empowerment and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting thorough assessments of clients’ occupational performance and mental health needs.
  2. Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on therapeutic activities and interventions.
  3. Providing individual and group therapy sessions to address mental health challenges and enhance coping skills.
  4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated and comprehensive care.
  5. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  6. Offering education and support to clients, families, and caregivers to enhance understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  2. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  3. Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally in mental health settings, at Band 6 level.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Passion for promoting mental health and well-being through client-centered and innovative occupational therapy practices.
