Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team in London. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, utilizing your expertise in occupational therapy to promote recovery and enhance quality of life. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team while advancing your career in mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients’ functional abilities and needs, utilizing a holistic and client-centered approach.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address patients’ goals and objectives, focusing on promoting independence and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Providing therapeutic interventions to support patients in managing their symptoms, improving coping skills, and enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Collaborating closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and integrated care delivery.
  • Monitoring patients’ progress and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment interventions, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Providing education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for managing mental health challenges and maximizing functional abilities.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Strong clinical skills and experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting recovery-oriented practices.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and interventions in the field of mental health occupational therapy.
