Position Overview: As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in Blackburn. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess clients’ functional abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to promote independence and improve overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need of mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of clients’ occupational performance and functional abilities, taking into account their mental health needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish meaningful goals and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their needs and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address clients’ cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial challenges.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients in developing coping strategies and adaptive skills to enhance their independence and quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and support workers, to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment approaches.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a mental health setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to providing person-centered care and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
