Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Inpatient Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this senior role, you will play a pivotal part in providing high-quality care and leadership within our inpatient mental health services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients’ occupational performance and functional abilities within the inpatient setting.
  • Developing and leading the implementation of individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
  • Providing clinical supervision and guidance to junior staff members, supporting their professional development and ensuring high standards of care delivery.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care planning and effective communication.
  • Contributing to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance the delivery of occupational therapy services within the inpatient setting.
  • Offering education and support to patients and their families regarding strategies for promoting recovery and maximizing independence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in inpatient mental health settings.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior staff members.
  • Excellent clinical skills in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
