Description

Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience in Paediatrics?

Pulse is seeking a band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to work in a paediatric service at an innovative NHS trust in Birmingham. The post can start as soon as possible, working full-time hours for an ongoing period.  

To be considered for this role, therapists must have previous experience working in a paediatric setting. The post holder will be responsible for a clinical caseload, monitoring their and others’ workload/ treatment methods, maintaining high professional standards, and advising the Professional Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist of related issues. To assess and reassess the child’s needs, analyse and interpret the information gathered to provide a diagnosis, contribute to the diagnosis, and formulate a treatment plan.

Some duties within this post will include:

  • Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
  • Fine motor assessments
  • Managing own caseload efficiently
  • Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working within a Paediatric service – Ideally, NHS
  • Encouraging attitude
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Good teamwork skills
