Role Overview: We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Band 5/6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, empowering them to achieve their goals and maximize their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ occupational performance, functional abilities, and environmental factors to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including activity analysis, skill development, and environmental modifications, to address clients’ mental health needs and promote recovery.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and workshops focusing on areas such as stress management, social skills development, and daily living skills training.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and support workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers on coping strategies, self-management techniques, and community resources to enhance overall well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Band 5 or Band 6 experience working as an Occupational Therapist in mental health or a related setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to support clients’ mental health recovery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting recovery-oriented practice.
  • Flexibility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities and client needs.
