Advanced Critical Care Practitioner- Band 8a

Permanent, Full time

Grade: Band 8A

Salary: £63,663 – £74,070 BAR £76,291 per annum

Location: Guernsey

Pulse is working with the Channel Islands largest provider of health care. Our client is seeking an experience qualified Advanced Critical Care Practitioner to join an existing team of two Advanced Critical Care Practitioners (ACCP) and two trainees.

The successful candidate will have the chance to shape and develop the Advanced Critical Care Practitioner service and will be able to aid in the training of new ACCP trainees.

Requirements

  • NMC registered nurse
  • Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Advanced Critical Care Practitioner)/ V300 Non-medical prescribing
  • Portfolio proof of FICM Advanced Critical Care Practitioner competencies
  • Extensive Band 6/7 Critical Care experience
  • Completion of 2-year trainee ACCP programme
  • Advanced Life Support Provider

Roles and responsibilities

  • Request, carry out, interpret results of diagnostic investigations, such as blood gas, pathology and medical imaging studies
  • Develop and oversee clinical treatment strategies
  • Perform invasive interventions that are within scop of practice including the insertion of arterial catheters, central venous catheters, Vascath’s, PICC’s, midlines, peripheral venous catheters, nasogastric tubes and urinary catheters
  • Use expert knowledge, leadership and competence to evaluate, organize and carry out care interventions for patients
