Pulse is currently working with a private client who are looking for a band 6 OT to join their team on a full time basis to cover maternity for 9-12 months with a possibility of going permanent. This service in Derbyshire provides mental health rehabilitation services to 22 male patients with learning disabilities and other complex needs.

You will work alongside a full multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and speech and language therapists. You will be required to exercise leadership, driving service delivery for occupational therapy outcomes. Working autonomously, you will provide quality assessments, reports and interventions and work with the school staff to embed sensory strategies across the environment. Taking a “hands on” approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills. Within time you may hold responsibility for the supervision and development of others within the Cambian OT team.

You must be a qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist to be considered for this position. Previous experience in working with learning disabilities, ideally with adults, is essential.
