Your pension when working with Pulse

What is a workplace pension?

A workplace pension is a way of saving for your retirement. By law, your employer must automatically enrol you into a pension scheme after 12 weeks and make contributions to your pension. To learn more about workplace pensions and auto enrolment, visit the Government website.

How are Pension contributions made?

Pensions contributions are set as follows:

  • Employee contribution set at 5%
  • Employer contribution set at 3%

Please note, you can increase your employee contribution above 5% but the employer contribution will remain at 3%.

The People’s Pension

When working PAYE with Pulse, you’ll automatically be enrolled as a member of The People’s Pension.

The People’s Pension is a workplace pension scheme provided by a not-for-profit company called B&CE, who have been providing pensions for more than 30 years. Being a not-for-profit company means that they don’t have shareholders, so any profits they make can be used to make things better for their customers.

The People’s Pension has more than three million members and tens of thousands of employers like us have chosen it for their staff. It’s the biggest private-sector automatic enrolment workplace pension scheme in the UK.
