As a qualified and experience Mental Health Social Worker, you’ll provide the appropriate level of support to service users and their families.

We treat a wide range of mental health problems and addictions in our mixed acute ward, with a view to moving patients on to the least restrictive setting possible. Our low secure wing helps patients with an autistic spectrum condition, as well as other complex mental health problems, while our open rehabilitation ward is for those stepping down from more secure mental health care settings. As part of our commitment to diagnosis and care, our Diagnostic Assessment Clinic provides a
comprehensive assessment for adults who present with suspected features of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

An AHCPC Registered Social Worker, you’ll work closely with staff to provide for our inpatients’ complex needs and requirements, creating relevant treatment goals, in liaison with health and social care agencies. Managing and minimising risk where appropriate, you’ll be actively engaged in the training and supervision of junior members of staff and students.

You’ll bring with you a Social Work Degree and have experience working with mental health patients within a dynamic MDT. Possessing knowledge and understanding of relevant mental health legislation, you’ll have experience in effective communication with families and external agencies. Able demonstrate the abilities, experience and skills needed to deal effectively and constructively with conflict in challenging situations, you have taken an active part in service improvement and in developing your knowledge and skills.
