Position: Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry within an independent hospital
Hours: This Position is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £150,000 per annum
Dates: Immediate start (permanent role)
Location: This vacancy is situated within North Wales
We would like to hear from caring and enthusiastic individuals who can work well with the team to deliver first class care for our service users with intellectual disabilities.
You will have direct clinical work with patients and work well with carers. You will deliver expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients ensuring physical health is considered alongside psychological and social issues; attend multidisciplinary reviews Patient assessments, CPA/CTP reviews, MAPPA meetings, risk reviews and engage in clinical team meetings.
You will have a good understanding of mental health and capacity legislation with knowledge of the Welsh/English differences. You will have excellent report writing skills and attend tribunals and hearings. You will liaise with colleagues and seek ad hoc supervision on clinical matters when appropriate.
Other duties include providing cross cover with your colleagues and joining the on-call rota. You will need to have Approved Clinician and have Section 12 status and be subject to the appropriate employment checks.
- You must have; excellent verbal communication skills, writing skills and be computer literate.
- You need to be Flexible, remain professional at all times and to be able to work with Adults of all ages.
- You must be GMC registered
- CCT in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry
- Approved Clinician (Welsh)
- Section 12 approved
