New: Post-shift induction surveys

We’re implementing an important change to our shift booking process. Please read on for further details.

As of Monday 9th October 2023, all healthcare professionals working for Pulse will be required to complete a short post-shift induction survey for each Trust they work at. The survey is intended to determine if you have received a full induction from the Trust and is designed to support you.

What does this mean for you?

You’ll receive a text with a link to complete a short induction survey for every Trust that you currently work at or approximately five days after your first shift at a new Trust. We’ve made the survey as easy as possible, and it will only take a minute of your time to complete. When clicking on the survey, all of your personal details will be prepopulated, meaning all you need to do is answer three short questions.

As mentioned above, if you pick up shifts at multiple NHS Trusts, you’ll be required to complete an induction survey for every NHS Trust you work at in the first instance. This means on the 9th of October, you’ll receive links to multiple surveys, and it’s really important that you complete all surveys requested. The good news is that once you’ve completed the survey for a particular Trust, you won’t have to do it again when working additional shifts at the same Trust.

Why do I need to do this?

The post-shift induction survey is a new requirement as part of the NHS staffing frameworks. As an NHS framework approved supplier, we must implement the request to continue to provide you with the best choice of shifts For your convenience, we’ve made the survey as simple as possible to complete. It will take no more than a minute of your time, and we’re only asking you to complete the survey once for each Trust that you work at.

How will I receive the induction survey?

We’ll send the induction survey via text to the mobile telephone number we have on file for you.

When will I receive an induction survey?

You’ll receive the survey approximately 5 days after you have worked your first shift at a new Trust.

How quickly do I need to respond?

You’ll have 7 days in which to complete the survey, although we kindly ask that you complete it as soon as you receive the message. We’ll also send you reminders to complete the survey if you have not done so.

What if I don’t complete it?

Unfortunately, as this is a requirement stipulated by the NHS frameworks we operate under, if you do not complete the induction request survey, you could be temporarily stopped from booking further shifts at the Trust until the survey is completed.

What is an NHS staffing framework?

An NHS staffing framework is a procurement agreement that enables NHS organisations to secure temporary staffing services from a small list of genuine, approved suppliers. The agreement between an agency and the NHS staffing framework usually lasts a maximum of four years, and to be selected as an approved framework agency, there are certain stipulations we must adhere to continue our approved supplier status.

To put it briefly, it’s important we implement the change as being an approved NHS framework supplier means we can give you access to shifts at NHS Trusts before non-approved agencies. Giving you first pick of the best shifts around.

What if I work at multiple NHS Trusts?

You’ll be required to complete an induction survey for every NHS Trust you work at to begin with. The good news is, once you complete the survey for a particular Trust, you won’t have to do another when working additional shifts at the same Trust.
