As a qualified and experience Mental Health Social Worker, you’ll provide the appropriate level of support to service users and their families.

As a Social Worker for the ward you will be working with complex trauma and behaviours supporting women within a specialist personality disorder ward. The ward offers a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Programme. DBT comprehensive programmes are a well evidenced psychological therapy that has been shown to reduce maladaptive coping behaviours and increase skills in areas of positive adaptive coping strategies and behaviours.

As a Social Worker you will be expected to support Service users with complicated family dynamics work closely with all disciplines and take an active role in safeguarding on the ward. Additionally you will be expected to on occasion to work on our low secure and PICU wards as necessary.

An HCPC Registered Social Worker, you’ll work closely with staff to provide for our inpatients’ complex needs and requirements, creating relevant treatment goals, in liaison with health and social care agencies. Managing and minimising risk where appropriate, you’ll be actively engaged in the training and supervision of junior members of staff and students. You’ll bring with you a Social Work Degree and have experience working with mental health patients within a dynamic MDT. Possessing knowledge and understanding of relevant mental health legislation, you’ll have experience in effective communication with families and external agencies. Able demonstrate the abilities, experience and skills needed to deal effectively and constructively with conflict in challenging situations, you have taken an active part in service improvement and in developing your knowledge and skills.
