Position: Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry within an independent hospital
Hours: This position is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £140,000 per annum
Dates: Immediate start (permanent role)
Location: This vacancy is situated within Yorkshire
The successful candidate will provide specialist medical/psychiatric assessment and treatment services to a working age adult population referred. The role includes work under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act and providing Responsible Clinician duties, as well as having line manager responsibility for a Specialty Doctor/Associate Specialist.
The post holder will work with the MDT to provide robust and effective risk assessment and management of the service users, ensuring least restrictive practice and positive risk taking within a framework of shared decision making and structure professional judgement.
This a part-time post, consisting of 7 sessions a week (3 full days or 6 half days or a combination of both), to be agreed on appointment. For the right candidate, we can also consider a full-time appointment by combining these duties with other clinical commitments across other hospitals. There are (second-line) on-call commitments of 1 in 10, or 1 in 7 if full-time.
- You must have; excellent verbal communication skills, writing skills and be computer literate.
- You need to be Flexible, remain professional at all times and to be able to work with Adults of all ages.
- You must be GMC registered
- CCT in General Adult Psychiatry
- Approved Clinician
- Section 12 approved
