Hours: This Position is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week 

Salary: Up to £150,000 per annum

Dates:  Immediate start (permanent role)

Job description

Located in Dorset, its a specialist 12 bed Tier 4 CAMHS LD service. The accommodation at the hospital will provide single en-suite rooms for young people between the ages of 12 -18 who have a Learning Disability and Mental Health diagnosis. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and lead and develop this new specialist service.

We are now looking to appoint a CAMHS/ LD Consultant Psychiatrist to deliver our purpose to make a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

You will lead from the front by building a culture that supports our values and puts the people we care for at the centre of what we do. Supported by the wider group, you will work within our multi-disciplinary team to ensure we deliver the highest standards of care to you the young people and families that need our services

Main Duties:
Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
 Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act(1983).
Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of young people.
Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy.
Contributing to in-house training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
Contributing to the development and evaluation of services in collaboration with the Lead Consultant and Clinical Service Manager.

Skills

  • You must have; excellent verbal communication skills, writing skills and be computer literate.
  • You need to be Flexible, remain professional at all times and to be able to work with Children of all ages.

Experience/Grade

  • You must be GMC registered
  • CCT in CAMHS Psychiatry
  • Approved Clinician
  • Section 12 approved
