Marcella Pergande RN

Managing Director - London Nursing

Marcella is the Managing Director of Pulse London Nursing. After establishing Pulse as a nursing agency in 1996, she has been instrumental in the company’s growth and development over the past 18 years.

With extensive experience working in the NHS and private healthcare sector to manage and meet client demands for nurses throughout London, she has an excellent understanding of what's needed to implement and run a cost-effective, quality-assured service, whilst maintaining an open and transparent relationship.

Marcella has a BA in Business Management from South Bank Business School and a nursing degree from the University College London Hospital.

Chief Operating Officer - Regional Nursing

Steve has over 14 years’ recruitment experience and has been with Pulse for eight. He’s responsible for the sales and operational running of Pulse Regional Nursing, which places thousands of nurses and midwives into NHS trusts and private sector positions across the UK.

Steve values honesty, integrity and high quality service for both candidates and clients. He has overseen year on year growth across all his business areas. The most rewarding part of Steve’s role is developing his team and their careers; with over 80% of his management team starting at Pulse in junior positions.

Tiffany Sheehan

Recruitment and Compliance Manager

Tiffany has been at Pulse London Nursing for over nine years. She started as a recruitment consultant until she moved onto managing the home team. In 2011, she began managing the recruitment and compliance team of 42 employees, including 6 based in India. Tiffany is also a qualified ITU nurse.

Her team help candidates process their applications quickly and offer great job opportunities, whilst providing advice and support for each of their needs.

She also works hard with clients to ensure they receive quality candidates who have been provided by a highly rated robust recruitment process.

Simon Steele

London Regional Director

Simon has been at Pulse for over 15 years. As Senior Operations Manager, his role includes deputising for the Managing Director, and providing support and assistance to other members of the management team. He is responsible for the community nursing team, the London private sector team, and the out of hours service team.

Simon previously worked in paediatrics and adult nursing roles within the NHS for almost 20 years. Having worked as a nurse, Simon brings empathy and understanding to the challenges faced by our candidates, offering support and advice where needed. He also assists clients by understanding the pressures of staffing a busy clinical environment and the need for competence, reliability and flexibility when using agency nurses to deliver service to patients.

The most rewarding part of Simon’s role is supporting the growth of the London nursing business and being part of a successful, well known and respected market leading agency which is known for the quality of its service and its nurses.

Claire Murphy CertRP

Regional Director

Claire is responsible for managing the: critical care, clinical, general, and theatre nursing teams, as well as the resource, recruitment and retention, and on call team in the Manchester office. After being in recruitment for nine years, she joined Pulse over five years ago as a contracts co-ordinator and quickly progressed to successfully lead the team.

She ensures all nursing candidates are given the right opportunities and flexibility to work in their preferred locations, offered the right training, and fully supported through the recruitment process. Claire also assists the teams in making sure urgent client requests are responded to quickly, and shifts are filled efficiently with the highest quality people.

Sue has 17 years experience within recruitment and over two years have been spent within Pulse. She established the rapidly expanding Newcastle office, which covers as far as York and Cumbria, specialising in providing high calibre general nursing, mental health and theatre nurses.

Supporting her business managers who cover a vast area from Cornwall to Kent, Helen’s experience allows her to support niche clients and provide hard to find nurses in specialist roles through working collaborative and in partnership with her clients.

Helen has 16 years experience within the healthcare industry. She began her career in 1998 as a Sales Co-odinator within the remit of international nursing, before joining Pulse in 2003 as a Recruitment Consultant. Jordanna has been with Pulse since 2013. As a Business Manager, her role includes managing the Pulse Nursing at Home division, which provides private nursing and care support and care children, adults and families in their own home. Prior to Pulse Jordanna studied Law at university and worked in Melbourne as a client liaison manager for an events company. (this last bit might be waffle!)

The most rewarding part of Jordanna’s job is meeting her patients and ensuring they, along with their family members, receive the very best support and care they need. Jordanna can ensure clients are supported by highly skilled nurses with regular visits from nurse consultants, to provide continuity and reassurance in their home.

Jo has 13 years experience within healthcare staffing, specifically in UK and international permanent nursing recruitment. Prior to this she worked as an Accident & Emergency Nurse at a leading teaching hospital in London.

Jo’s worked with many different types of client whose requirements range from needing anything from 1-100 nurses. She’s experienced working and managing staffing projects within the NHS, private and commercial sectors, ensuring that at all times she’s assisting candidates in making the right long-term move for them.
