Our client is looking to recruit a full-time motivated Theatre Practitioner / Scrub Nurse. You will need to be committed to patient care, team support and career development. Our client is a modern, private outpatient, diagnostic and day case surgical facility for a range of health issues. You will be working in state of the art facilities with world renowned highly skilled specialists. The hospital features state of the art equipment and world class surgical specialists; 2 fully integrated laminar flow operating theatres, 8 recovery bays, a discharge lounge, and 13 consulting rooms. Our client is actively seeking to recruit an experienced Theatre Practitioner / Scrub Nurse to compliment the theatre team.
This is a full time, permanent Theatre Practitioner / Scrub Nurse role with various shift patterns Monday to Saturday from 6am – 10pm.
Duties & Responsibilities
Act as a member of the scrub team, providing a safe, efficient service to the theatre users, covering specialities; Ortho, ENT, Plastics and Ophthalmic. Working collaboratively as a team on the overall patient's journey and experience.
Ensure that all checks and counts are carried out and recorded. Ensure that all tracking and recording procedures for implants, instrumentation and equipment are maintained.
Provide assistance to the surgeon as required.
Ensure prompt session start times and minimise session over-runs through effective forward planning and organisation.
Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate own workload, organising equipment and resources as service demands, in accordance with policies and protocols.
Ensuring all documentation relating to patient care is maintained.
Liaise with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team who are involved in the specialised care of patients.
Act as a patient advocate respecting autonomy, privacy, dignity and confidentiality. Communicate with the patient to ensure they are fully informed in all aspects of their care.
Maintain a clean environment to minimise the risk of cross infection and maximise the control of infection.
Skills & Experience
ODP and/or Registered Nurse Level 1 with relevant experienced as theatre nurse/practitioner (Scrub)
Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Ability to work flexibly with various shift patterns Monday to Saturday from 6am – 10pm.
Excellent team building skills, with ability to work collaboratively as a team to support other areas of Theatre services as required.
