Position: Theatre Practitioner – Recovery – Plymouth

My client is currently looking for Recovery Practitioners to join their dedicated team. Specialising in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor Orthopaedic procedures The centre offers an expanding service in a friendly environment that is calm and the staff dedicated and professional. The facilities are state-of-the-art with a mixture of theatres, treatment rooms and an endoscopy suite. The successful candidate will be able to focus on what really matters; delivering a high standard of patient care. You will also be able to benefit from fully supported training programmes, on site café and free parking.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary theatre team, you will provide clinical care to ensure the promotion of high standards for all patients requiring all aspects of preoperative, peri operative and postoperative care. Following appropriate training encompassing a variety of specialities, you will ensure patients are appropriately monitored and cared for before and after their surgery and ensure they are fit and discharged from the unit appropriately.
Skills / Experience/ Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will have:
o Recent experience within an acute environment with experience in the recovery of patients following surgery.
o Previous experience in pre-assessment.
o A good understanding on infection control and health and safety issues relating to theatre.
o Knowledge of when to refer to the Anaesthetist.
o NMC registered Level 1 Nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.
o ENB 176/183 or equivalent post operative surgical care experience.
o ILS Training.
