Salary – £28,400 - £30,000 depending on experience

My client is an independent hospital and charity currently recruiting across their site.
They have some exciting opportunities, both full and part time, for Senior Theatre Practitioners with responsibility for implementing high standards of peri-operative care within a wider theatre team, you will be competent and skilled to assist and monitor patient care within theatres and the recovery environment. Having a patient-centred approach, you will work as part of the Theatres team, providing support and mentorship to more junior roles.
You will have a degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent experience, and will be willing to learn new skills. With methodical skills, you will pay attention to the details to ensure you deliver the highest patient care possible.
We will consider candidates who wish for part time as well as full time hours (full time hours are 37.5 per week).
Plan and implement high standards of perioperative care for patients, following hospital guidelines and protocols, promoting a patient-focussed approach to care .
Where necessary, and appropriate to the particular department, prepare and facilitate theatre lists including entering patient information on IT systems.
Ensure patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained
Supervision of junior members of the team, including providing clinical supervision/act as a mentor
Be accountable for the Theatre Sister.SPECIFIC ROLE REQUIREMENTS
The postholder will participate in the department’s emergency call out system, and may be required to work shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays
The postholder will be expected to be a member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council/Health and Care
Professionals Council and will be expected to abide by the relevant Code of Conduct and any
supporting policies/procedures for clinical staff within the hospital
Proven Knowledge, Training and Experience
Previous significant perioperative experience
Degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent (Diploma may be acceptable with relevant experience)
Registered Nurse (with supporting PREP evidence)
ALERT/BLS/ILS& ALS training or a willingness to undertake training
Mentorship/clinical supervision qualification
Good IT skills or a willingness to undertake training
Basic phlebotomy and ECG monitoring experience or a willingness to undertake training
Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure Skills & Competencies
