Position – Senior Registered Nurse –Wards -Worcestershire

Salary –£26,000 DOE
Hours –Full Time – 37.5 hrs

Our client has a vacancy for a Senior Registered Nurse to join their team of staff on the wards of a surgical department.

Working Hours:

This Senior Registered Nurse role is for 37.5 hours a week.

 

Senior Registered Nurse should meet the following criteria:

·       NMC registration, Level 1

·       RGN

·       Experience in an acute surgical care setting

·       Ability to plan and deliver care for the acutely ill patient.

·       Ability to liaise with consultants.

·       Familiar with emergency situations.

·       Good communication skills.

·       Ability to perform extended role procedures, i.e. ECG’s, IV drugs.

·       Mentorship of students

 

Duties of this role include:

·         Accurate and full documentation of records

·         Keeps the Ward Manager informed of any situations or changes, which may occur

·         Individualised patient care/ planning

·         Assisting with teaching and assessing junior staff.

·         Carry out work in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

·         Provide high standards of care, i.e. asepsis, working equipment, stock control.

·         Work well as a member of the team and support sisters and charge nurses, keeping them informed of patient condition.

·         Engender team spirit and high staff morale.

·         Assist in the induction of new staff and participate in training of staff.

·         Keep professionally updated.

·         Actively participate in the health and safety of all staff and patients and visitors, ensuring that Hospital policy is adhered to.

·         Maintain effective lines of communication with all staff at all levels, internally and externally.

·         Be familiar with emergency situations.

·         Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the unit and take an active part in infection control within the hospital.
