We are currently looking for a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, for on-going, ad hoc assignments in Maidstone, Kent (Band 6 and 7 roles available).
As a senior Team member in the Occupational Health Department of a busy NHS client, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of OH Nurse Advisors and advancing clinical practice in line with DoH guidelines and legislation. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be a confident and effective communicator, able to provide professional advice to both external clients and employees within the Trust, as well as the wider team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To Case Manage and assess new clients presenting to Occupational Health
Undertake Risk Assessments for BBVs and appropriate action, in line with the DoH Guidelines following body fluid exposure/needlestick injury
To support the team of Occupational Health nurses and respond to internal and external queries in a timely manner
To provide all aspects of nursing care including consultation, advice, education, testing and immunisations
To risk assess employees presenting with perceived stress and take appropriate action.
To write letters to GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical reports Act and Data Protection Act.
Appropriate record keeping in line with departmental and Trust protocol
Management responsibilities in support of the Head of Occupational Health
Post Graduate Qualification in Occupational Health
12 months experience within a similar Occupational Health role
Proven Managerial Experience
Organised and Knowledgeable
Able to Prioritise own and others’ workload and delegate effectively
Excellent communication skills
Driver with access to vehicle
