The Role:

Our client is looking to recruit a full-time skilled and motivated Registered Nurse who is experienced in their work. They can offer our Nurses the opportunity to work in a challenging role in a caring working environment dealing with a full range of surgeries, from minor procedures to major operations.

As a Registered Nurse you will get the opportunity to work with some of the county’s best consultants so you will be open to innovative evidence-based clinical techniques.  The post holder will work within a team of staff including qualified nurses, health care assistants and clerical staff. They will demonstrate a consistently high standard of nursing care for a caseload of patients.

Working hours:   
This is a full time post covering 22.5 hours per week. You will be working shifts on a rotational basis on earlies, lates and nights.

Duties will include (but not be restricted to):

  • Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for your assigned caseload of patients.
  • Be professionally accountable and responsible for co-ordinating total nursing care for your assigned caseload of patients.
  • Administer treatments/care to patients following hospital policies and in accordance with individual Consultant protocols/requests.
  • Administer and record medications in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Store, administer and document all medications in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Monitor, order, receive and check stock items including consumables, equipment and drugs.
  • Proactively monitor the patient’s level of discomfort/pain and take appropriate actions to ensure the patient is comfortable.
  • Maintain legible, accurate and complete patient records of your nursing care.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication links with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of infection prevention and control standards and promote these at all times within the ward environment.

It is essential that applicants have the following:

  • Fully qualified nurse with NMC Registration.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Diplomatic and skilled in dealing with Consultants, customers and colleagues.
  • Awareness of NMC code of conduct and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competent across a range of skills.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Knowledge of Care Quality Commission standards.
  • Administration of Intravenous Additives.
