Position – RMN or RGN – Inpatient Detox Unit – Bradford
Location – Bradford
Salary – Dependent upon experience
Hours – Rolling Rota – Full Time – 12.5hr shifts

My client is currently looking to recruit a permanent RGN (Registered Nurse) or RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) to work a rolling rota which will consist of the following hours – 

2x Days shifts of 12.5 hours – 07.30 to 20.00
2x Night shifts pf 12.5 hours – 19.30 to 08.00

Theses shifts are across consecutive days and equate to four on and then five off.

Job Summary

The post holder will support the Centre Manager and Lead Nurse in the provision of nursing care in the detox facility.  S/he will be part of a team ensuring clients receive a high level of quality service and care ensuring you maintain a safe environment for the clients and staff.

The main duty of the role will be supporting caseload management of the wider team. This will involve assessing, planning and implementing clinical care whilst managing clients’ general health needs and responding to clinical and medical emergencies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Particularly in relation to information governance, confidentiality, diversity, health & safety and medication control as defined from time to time
Support the Centre manager and Lead Nurse in the preparation and development of the Clinic action plan in line with the Company’s aims and objectives
Develop and maintain close liaisons and working relationships with other primary and secondary care health and social care professionals in the formulation and delivery of a client’s recovery plan.
Help ensure that the accommodation for residents, including catering, maintenance, and cleanliness is of a high standard.
Carry out the comprehensive induction of bank/agency nurses as part of the onboarding process. 
Undertake screening, triage/initial and comprehensive assessments and risk management plans of clients
Plan and provide care for individuals undergoing detoxification programmes
Administer medication in accordance with the doctor’s instruction and monitor effects, including undertaking clinical observations and reporting any abnormalities to the doctor(s).
Respond to clinical and medical emergencies, and managing crisis as a first line intervention. 
Undertake alcohol/drug screening on a regular basis.
Liaise with community pharmacies to ensure prescriptions are in place
Accurately record on the relevant systems and maintain case records/reports and statistical information and to take part in clinical audits and service evaluation in a timely manner and to the agreed standards.
Occasionally supervise junior staff and volunteers in the proper performance of their duties 
Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required by the Line Manager and/or the Senior Management Team or Directors. 

Person Specification
A current, UK recognised nursing qualification - RMN, RGN, CPN or equivalent. 
Registered Nurse Mental Health or Registered Nurse General (NMC Registration and active PIN).
Demonstrable experience of delivering clinical interventions in the substance misuse field.
Experience of undertaking comprehensive screening, clinical assessments, clinical audits and formulating recovery plans.
Experience of managing a caseload of clients being prescribed substitute medication.
Experience of developing and maintaining successful partnerships with GPs, treatment agencies and other healthcare providers.
Experience of keeping accurate and up-to-date client/customer records for monitoring purposes
Sound knowledge of the relevant legal and ethical frameworks.
Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and good practice.
Knowledge of NICE guidelines and ability to work in accordance within them.
Ability to work independently, prioritise, plan and manage own workload.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels, with individuals, groups, organisations and the public.
Ability to provide a flexible and adaptable approach in order to develop and deliver services which are accessible and responsive to the needs of users.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as a medical lone worker
Strong customer service skills 
Ability to respond flexibly to the demands of the role
Ability to engage in continuous professional development
Ability to have an appreciation of and work effectively with people from a diverse background
