The severity of cases means they are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses who can thrive in an often-demanding environment. It will be challenging, and at times it can feel frustrating and dispiriting. My client is looking for RMNs to work on our eating disorders Ward. You will be an experienced RMN who is flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and interested in working within a modern, forward thinking, effective, specialist service. You will be a key member of their multi-disciplinary teams adopting a pro-active and therapeutic approach to care management with a supportive and healing environment.
About the Role:
As well as providing outstanding treatment and care, the hospital aims to deliver a service that’s empowering for their patients. One in which they can support them in maximising the quality of their life in the least restrictive manner possible. So when you join their multi-disciplinary team, you’ll work together to develop personalised, recovery-focused programmes and care pathways. Playing a vital leadership role on the ward, you’ll also use your expertise and ideas to help them continually evolve best practice and set new standards both within and across the profession.
The successful candidate will undertake and manage direct patient care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs. Undertaking the delivery of care, including individual and group sessions to agreed quality standards as prescribed by internal procedure and health legislation. You should be prepared to work in an environment that can be very challenging, but also rewarding.
The allocation and the ability to oversee work of junior colleagues and staff. Care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward/department.
Shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information. Ensuring good quality patient documentation, which meets regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.
Qualifications / Skills/ Selection Criteria:
While you’ll be RMN qualified and NMC registered, my client will be looking for a range of qualities that goes beyond your qualifications and technical ability. Whether you are currently working elsewhere or returning to practice, you’ll be patient centric with a commitment to delivering high quality care. Finely tuned decision-making skills, communication skills and organisational capacity are a must, while your flexibility and can-do attitude will enable our patients to build on their existing strengths and feel positive about their lives.
