Position – Pre-Assessment Sister- Bradford
Salary – 24,000-30,000 (Negotiable)
Hours – Full Time 

Our client is inviting applications for the position of Pre- Admission Sister. They are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to demonstrate a high standard of attention to detail. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week reporting into the Outpatient Manager. 

• Recent post qualification surgical experience
• Experience in Pre-admission clinics at Senior Nurse Level.
• Knowledge in current national guidance around pre-optimising patients prior to surgery
• Experience of a team approach to care delivery
• Experience of leading a team


• Previous clinical supervisory experience
• Previous training experience or qualification
• Specific training in Pre admission clinic management
Technical Skills and Application:

Assessment of patients
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with patients and their carers using data collected from medical questionnaires, previous notes,  telephone communications and face to face if required; Identify individual patient requirements and plan an individualised care pathway; Responsible for carrying out appropriate clinical interventions required to deliver comprehensive patient care; Liaise with all departments to ensure pathway can be delivered; Liaise with bookings team, consultants, anaesthetists and theatre manager to ensure appropriate theatre allocation is applied  

Staff and patient training and education
Assists in development of education programmes, induction and orientation. Responsible for mentoring new staff working in PAC.  

Monitor and measure performance standards of care and practice. Maintains accurate accounts of nursing treatment, care planning and delivery. Ensures Pre-admission statistics are correctly recorded for collection/evaluation/audit.  

Maintaining Policy 
Implementing current policy
Liaises closely with Multidisciplinary team and all other departments as well as outside agencies when appropriate to ensure policy is delivered;
Assists in ensuring that revenue capture and cost control is completed satisfactorily in line with Ramsay policy and report to line manager if concerns are highlighted;
Leads the development of practice within PAC department to ensure efficiency and clinical effectiveness is maintained;
Uses excellent communication skills to undertake pre and post operative phone calls to ensure continuity for the patient
Reports clinical concerns to relevant consultants’;
Liaises with GPs and allied health professionals for all patients which require a cancellation or postponement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the service.
Demonstrated customer service skills and focus.
