Permanent, full time

Salary: £45,000-£49,537 per annum + benefits!

 

Pulse is working alongside an independent hospital in Central London dedicated to care of Children and Women to recruit a PICU Nurse Educator.

This is a permanent, full time post for a registered nurse with RN Child/RSCN registration to work within a large and impressive Paediatric services team. The service includes; 56 inpatient beds + 11 day case bed, 6 cot neonatal unit. The acuity and complex nature of the children who are admitted to the hospital is high and patients are received from overseas as well as the UK.

The successful candidate for the role of PICU Nurse Educator is required to be a highly visible role model of clinical education, an expert practitioner and change agent promoting a learning environment on the Paediatric intensive care unit and provide practical, clinical training and support, to Paediatric Staff; undergraduate students and non trained clinical staff.

You will be working todevelop clinical education within the Paediatric Department by working in collaboration with the senior nursing team and to liaise with a dedicated Learning and Development within the hospital department to access relevant training for staff and to assist with the induction and preceptorship of all new staff.

 

A minimum of 80% of total hours will be working in the clinical areas to support qualified nurses, mentors, assessors and students in an educational capacity to ensure high quality , evidence based care is provided to all patients.

You will provide supervisory expertise to Nurses in Paediatric intensive care unit underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience within the Paediatric intensive care unit. In conjunction with the Paediatric Intensive care Matron, plan and facilitate training in the clinical area. Develop coaching skills to support professional development in all clinical areas

We are wanting to hear from applicants with a proven track record of working within a PICU and those that hold a relevant Paediatric/PICU course, post qualification. Experience of formal, informal teaching of nurses would also be expected.

At this level we would expect applicants to be competent in tracheostomy care and gastrostomy care, IV access , central line access

The salary for this role is £45,000-£49,537 per annum depending on experience.
