We are looking for an experienced Perioperative Practitioner (RGN/ODP) to join this pregnancy advisory service in Merseyside.  Our client is looking for a self-motivated and thorough Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with experience in a similar setting to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. In the role of Perioperative Practitioner, you will support in the provision of planned care for patients who are undertaking anaesthetic and surgical procedures. You will have a wealth of experience in theatres, recovery (preferably in gynaecology) and will be passionate about providing outstanding care. The ideal candidate for this role will be friendly, calm, non-judgmental and have strong communication skills.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the daily running of the unit
  • Assessing, planning, evaluating and implementing care for patients
  • Coordinating high standard of care within the treatment unit
  • Carrying out post treatment check-ups by assessing the physical condition of the client and discussing any concerns raised
  • Administering drugs when required and ensuring the safe keeping of medications
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and security

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Practitioner qualified with relevant experience & registration (RGN/ODP)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Up to date clinical experience
  • Current and valid registration with the NMC/HCPC and a legal right to work in the UK
