Pulse is currently working on behalf of a Private Insurance company based in Bristol which currently has vacancies for Nurse Case Manager (Medical & Surgical) to join their team.
Our Client is looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse to join their ever growing clinical services department, based in our offices in Bristol.
You will support complex medical and surgical claims, offering the highest level of customer service and at the same time using your nursing experience. You'll talk to our members over the phone and help them through their treatment, liaising with the specialist and hospital providers on a regular basis.
All of the nurses continue to use their clinical knowledge whilst also developing an understanding of business strategy. We appreciate that it can be a big move going from a hands-on role to working in an office environment, balancing both clinical and commercial decisions, so we are keen to support nurses during this transition and beyond. Medical expertise is vital to us, so everyone is supported to maintain their qualifications and registered status and given time to work on re-validation requirements.

You will need to be able to complete in depth research into new treatments and medicines, as you will be managing cases for a wide variety of conditions.
As part of the Medical Surgical Care Team you will use your clinical expertise to proactively manage claims, making financial and clinical decisions based on your interaction with the multi-disciplinary team, the patient and other areas of the business. We also offer a Dedicated Heart Nurse helpline, providing support and information to our members before and after treatment.
You will also be encouraged to develop and maintain your nursing knowledge to provide consistently high quality case management.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
You will be surrounded by a friendly and supportive team, who all have different nursing experience, and together you can all widen your knowledge and develop your skills.
We do need you to have:
• A nursing diploma or BSc in nursing
• Current RGN/RMN nursing registration with the NMC
• Relevant and up to date nursing experience
• Excellent written skills
• A great telephone manner
• The ability to think creatively and autonomously
• Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
• Good PC Skills
