Pulse is working alongside a prestigious private hospital in London that is looking to recruit an infection control nurse to work across their facility and become a key member of the team.

This hospital is one of the largest private hospitals within the UK, providing treatment for numerous common and complex conditions across 3 different locations. One of which is a newly purpose built facility which will allow the hospital to host its cancer services under one roof.

The newly built facility will host inpatient, day case beds and operating theatres including the first integrated robotics theatre in the UK, which houses a Da Vinci Robot. There will also be a chemotherapy unit, outpatient consulting, level 3 critical care and imaging including X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound.

Job Description

Assisting the monitoring, surveillance and investigation of infections and advise on preventative and control measures relating directly or indirectly to patient care. You may be required to lead on programmes and projects relating to infection control.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Evaluate the clinical significance of microbiological data and the implications for infection control practice

  • Interpret the relevance of laboratory reports to clinical staff as required

  • Participate in correlating information from laboratories and clinical areas regarding the incidence and pathogenicity of infection

  • On a daily basis assess ward based patients with an alert organism, advising on the implementation of isolation

Skills and experiences

  • Level 1 – NMC registered nurse

  • Infection Prevention and Control qualification

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Must have appropriate managerial experience at ward departmental level
