Position – Endoscopy Nurse
Location – Suffolk
Salary –£26,500 – £29,800
Hours – Full time

My client is currently looking for a General Registered nurse to join their endoscopy unit.

Overall Responsibilities -
• Maintain a professional profile and develop skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the organisations policies and procedures.
• As a specialist endoscopy nurse to carry out pre, peri and post endoscopy care for patients.
• You will provide a safe care environment including preparing and clearing up rooms and equipment with particular reference to infection control and safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Promote a culture of constant quality and performance improvement.
• Maintain the Health & Safety in the unit.
• Participate in clinical audit
• Competent in the decontamination and disinfection of endoscopes and accessories, including the safe handling and safe storage of equipment.
• Follow strict security and health and safety protocols when returning a damaged scope for repair, liaising with the senior nurse as appropriate.
• Maintain an awareness of the need for good housekeeping, helping to ensure that ward stock levels are kept to optimum agreed limits.
• Maintain own professional development by attending courses and undertaking further training to enhance role to meet the specialist needs of the department.

Qualifications, Training and Experience -
• Registered Nurse on 1 or 12 of the NMC Register.
• Ability to move and handle patients and loads.
• Flexible attitude to work and work hours to meet service needs.
• Compliant with all pre-employment statutory and health checks.
• Demonstrate ability to provide high quality patient care.
• Present a professional image which inspires confidence.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the Primary Care agenda.
• Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of endoscopy specific software.
• Demonstrate ability to organise and arrange work of self and others.
• Computer literate.
• Able to work as an effective team member.
• Ability to move and handle patients and loads.
