Our Vacancy

We are seeking to recruit Perioperative Practitioners, specialising in Anaesthetics and Recovery or Scrub.  You will form part of a well-established, professional, friendly theatre team providing a high quality of perioperative care for patients undergoing in-patient and day case surgery.

Confidently undertaking anaesthetic/recovery practitioner responsibilities, the successful applicants will provide exemplary planned care for patients and assistance to consultants within the perioperative environment.
 
Working hours:   
This is a full time Anaesthetic/Recovery Practitioner position of 37.5 hours per week.   Shifts will be worked flexibly over Monday – Saturday.

Experience:
We are looking for a confident Registered Nurse with demonstrable experience of running a ward in the absence of more senior staff as well as experience of mentoring students and more junior colleagues.  The successful candidate will have experience of working in teams and working with minimum supervision. Previous surgical experience is essential and ideally you will have experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.

Knowledge and Technical Ability: The successful candidates will be qualified Theatre Nurses or ODP, with current registration with the NMC or HCPC.

At least 2 years’ post basic experience is essential, ideally in a number of specialties. This will enable you to provide planned care for patients requiring operative procedures which could include day case, or in-patient surgery within your area of expertise and experience.

You will have experience of planning work and acting under your own initiative, as well as working within a team and with supervision. You must be flexible in your approach to your tasks and duties, and we will also need you to be willing to be flexible in your working patterns.
