Pulse is seeking a Qualified Urgent Care Practitioner/NP/ENP for flexible shifts in an NHS Urgent Care Centre near Essex. The shifts include earlies, lates and twilights. The service is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Bank holidays.
You will be working as a frontline advocate for the Urgent Care Centre, assessing, diagnosing, treating and redirecting patients where necessary, who present with a range of minor illnesses and injuries, with the aim to make better use of NHS services and reduce the pressure on local Emergency Departments.
You will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the Urgent Care Centre, maintaining accurate records of workload and prioritising patients on a clinical basis.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be working autonomously, alongside Nurse Streamers, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Doctors and Nurses, A&E, Community and Mental Health teams, Social Services GP Practices and other Care services in order to effectively treat and direct attending patients in accordance with agreed protocol and approved guidance.
Pulse requires the Nurse Practitioner to have:
A minimum of 12 months post registration experience
Demonstrable experience of working in an A&E, Community or Primary Care setting
Sound Decision making skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to recognise non-verbal cues and deal with hostility
Registered with the NMC
Eligibility to work within the UK
Either a Nurse Practitioner, ENP, Health Visitor or District Nursing Qualification is desirable but not essential for this role as the client is willing to offer training, to successful applicants
