You will be working as a frontline advocate for the Urgent Care Centre, assessing, diagnosing, treating and redirecting patients where necessary, who present with a range of minor illnesses and injuries, with the aim to make better use of NHS services and reduce the pressure on local Emergency Departments.

You will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the Urgent Care Centre, maintaining accurate records of workload and prioritising patients on a clinical basis.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be working autonomously, alongside Nurse Streamers, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Doctors and Nurses, A&E, Community and Mental Health teams, Social Services GP Practices and other Care services in order to effectively treat and direct attending patients in accordance with agreed protocol and approved guidance.

Pulse requires the Nurse Practitioner to have:

  • Sound Decision making skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to recognise non-verbal cues and deal with hostility

  • Registered with the NMC

  • Eligibility to work within the UK

  • Either a Nurse Practitioner, ENP, Health Visitor or District Nursing Qualification is desirable but not essential for this role as the client is willing to offer training, to successful applicants

  • Flexible shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Referral schemes up to £250*

  • A Fast track recruitment service with £250* bonus

  • Access to our interactive booking service

  • Band 7 pay rates

  • Ongoing training

  • Annual Occupational Health updates

  • Holiday Pay Entitlements

As part of the recruitment process you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check. We regret that we cannot accept applications from candidates seeking work permits.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a department whose primary focus is to help the local population gain access to the health care they need. By ensuring that patients are seen by the most appropriate clinicians and preventing inappropriate attendance at A&E, you will actively play an invaluable role in reducing the pressure on our Emergency Departments, when it's most needed.

Register your details below today, and a member of the Pulse team will be in contact with you shortly.
