NHS discounts

There are many high street shops, online stores and restaurants that want to say thank you for your hard work by offering exclusive discounts to NHS staff.

As the NHS turns 70, we’ve picked our top discounts and listed them below.

Nando’ s

Who doesn’t love a cheeky Nando’s? Nando’s offers a 20% discount for all NHS staff on the production of your badge prior to ordering. The 20% discount is applied to the cardholders order, up to a value of £20. If your order is over the value of £7 you can still earn a chilli with your Nando’s reward card. Unfortunately, the discount cannot be applied to delivery, online take way orders or Deliveroo orders.

Leon

Looking for something quick after a long shift or breakfast on the go? Healthy fast food restaurant Leon offers 15% discount for all NHS staff on the production of your badge when ordering.

Subway

Sandwich lovers can get 10% off your meal at Subway with your NHS ID badge. Bear in mind that these restaurants are franchises so, discounts may vary at each location. Check before you order.

Domino’s Pizza

For when you’re feeling naughty, Domino’s Pizza offer up to 50% off collected orders with production of your ID badge. Like Subway, the discount may vary between different franchises so check with your local store before ordering.

Hilton Hotel

Whether you’re looking for a cultural city break or relaxing seaside retreat, your perfect weekend break awaits you. Hilton Hotel’s offer an exclusive 30% off their best available bed & breakfast rate at weekends and 20% off Hampton by Hilton Hotels. Find out more information and to book your next escape.

Skypark Secure (airport parking)

Time to upgrade your mobile? Both O2 and EE have offers available.

O2

Enjoy up to 40% discount on the airtime plan of one O2 Refresh phone tariff, and one tablet or mobile broadband tariff with O2 Open. The O2 Refresh Airtime Plan covers the monthly cost of your calls, text and data. The offer doesn’t apply to your device plan, which is the monthly cost of your device. All you have to do is buy a new device on O2 Refresh, sign up to O2 Open (to get your code text OPEN followed by NHS to 61202), and within 28 days of the start of your contract, once your work email or payslip has been verified, sign into O2 Open and add your discount. Find out more here.

EE

Take advantage of 20% off your monthly line rental with EE when signing up for a minimum 12-month plan. The offer is available online when eligible for an upgrade or purchasing a new contract. What’s even more fantastic is the offer can be extended for up to four family members and friends. You’ll have to sign up for your discount via the EE Perk site here and wait to receive a code which you can use to obtain your discount online.

There are also many other reward schemes for NHS staff which offer invaluable money saving opportunities. The Blue Light Card for example, provides those in the NHS discounts both online and in store at a wide range of well-known high street retailers and attractions such as Starbuck’s, Cineworld, New Look and Alton Towers (to name a few). The card costs £4.99 for a 5 year membership.

Health Service Discounts is another website which brings all your discounts together in one place, and you can save on everything from a holiday, to your weekly shop - and it’s completely free to sign up and use!

In 1945, a programme of welfare measures was introduced following the election of the Labour Party – including a National Health Service. What followed over the next 70 years was innovation after innovation, and development of a service that has become one of this country’s most recognised facilities.
