Pulse would like to say a big thank you to all the nurses across the world on International Nurses Day. Your hard work and dedication makes a difference to so many people’s lives each day.

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world each year, on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. The day celebrates the contributions nurses make to society and is a great opportunity to acknowledge the commitment that nurses provide on a daily basis.

This is why we think you're great ...

Nurses do a job that most of us couldn’t and can raise a smile even in the darkest times. “Nurses give so much of themselves to others every day – they are selfless.”
“Nurses provide expertise, knowledge, care and compassion and not because they have to, but because they want to.”

Every day, nursing staff around the world go the extra mile for their patients. As a small gesture of our appreciation, Pulse will be donating £0.25p for each social engagement that takes place on International Nurses Day, across the Pulse Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn page, to the Cavell Nurses’ Trust.

I will always be grateful to nurses as they helped to save my life when I was given a 5% chance of surviving after severely fracturing my skull and getting brain damaged from a motorbike accident in 1976.
