Dammam

Dammam can be found in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern province. Once a cluster of fishing villages, with a history that stretches back more than 2,000 years, it has transformed into a modern commercial centre with a thriving oil industry and sea port.

While life in Dammam and Saudi Arabia on the whole is famously restrictive, Pulse staff live in compounds so have a more Western day-to-day existence; most compounds are cosmopolitan, social hubs, well equipped with a pool, a gym, at least one shop and in some you'll even find hairdressers. Dammam is also a relatively short drive from Bahrain which has a more liberal lifestyle.

Given that the accommodation is paid for, and that rates of pay are excellent, many expats choose to work in the Middle East for a period to save money and return home having done exactly that. Being located in the Middle East also means many holiday destinations in Africa, India, Australia and South East Asia are much closer compared to being based in Europe.
