Surgical First Assistant (SFA)
Location: Southend-On-Sea, Essex
Salary: £41,659 – £47,672 (annual) depending on experience
Role: Full-time
Pulse Nursing is currently recruiting for a Surgical First Assistant (SFA) to join one the largest private healthcare companies in Southend-On-Sea!
The well-renowned hospital has 2 theatres – 2 with laminar flow and covers a wide range of specialities such as orthopaedics, bariatrics, general surgery, vascular, plastics, gynae, ophthalmology, spinal, urology and ENT.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Support in assessing patient’s health and well-being
- Working across a complex and changing caseload
- Promoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements
- Acting as an SFA across a heavy caseload of general, gynaecology, urology and bariatrics
- Working as a Scrub Practitioner across various specialities
We are looking for you to be:
- An NMC Registered Nurse, or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
- Minimum of 2 years post SFA Qualification
- Experience in general, gynaecology, urology and bariatrics
