Pulse is currently seeking a Band 5/6 Speech and Language Therapist who is highly specialised within stroke and dysphagia rehabilitation, to join a fantastic private client based in Surrey. This vacancy is available to start immediately, offering full-time hours for an ongoing period.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a stroke unit and be trained in dysphagia. The role will consist of working within an acute stroke hospital setting, with clients who have dysphagia and communication difficulties due to strokes or ABIs.
To be considered for this role:
- You must have previous experience working within stroke settings
- Dysphagia competency
- Must hold the relevant degree/qualifications
- Car driver
Main responsibilities:
- You will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions for service users (including stroke rehabilitation) who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties, resulting from a variety of acquired or progressive neurological conditions. Also providing advice, support and education for patients and their families/Carers, and offer training to students and support junior colleagues and other Health Care Professionals.
- The SLT’s will work as part of the ward MDT alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, psychologist and consultants.
