Staff Nurse – Surgical

Location: Leeds, UK

Salary: £25,655 – £31,534 (annual) depending on experience

Role: Permanent, Full-Time position

 

Pulse is delighted to be working alongside the Leeds region of the largest private healthcare hospital! A new opportunity has opened to recruit an experienced staff nurse to join their surgical ward.

The outstanding hospital offers treatment across over 30 medical specialties including orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, oncology (cancer care) and general surgery. Their facilities include 88 private rooms each with en-suite facilities, eight operating theatres including three laminar flow theatres and an endoscopy theatre, sterile services department and both outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week!

While working within a multidisciplinary team within surgical ward, you will need to be able to plan, deliver, implement and evaluate high standards of patient focused care as a staff nurse. You will be undertaking care for patients who have had a wide range of operations focusing on post-operative care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on post-operative care
  • Assist, plan and deliver in recovery process
  • Providing emotional support
  • Liaising with patients, families and consultants
  • Provide recommendations to improve patients’ wellbeing
  • Working across a complex and changing caseload of a busy surgical unit

 

Requirements:

  • NMC-registered nurse
  • Have a minimum of 6 months, post-graduation, hospital experience
  • Have been employed in surgical or acute settings
