Staff Nurse – Oncology Inpatients

Location: Central London, UK

Salary: £35,743 – £46,438  (annual) depending on experience

£2,000 ‘Golden Hello’*

Role: Permanent, Full-time position

Pulse Nursing is currently recruiting for a Staff Nurse (Oncology) to join one of London’s largest private hospitals!

The impressive clinic has 74 consulting rooms, 10 operating theatres consisting of a hybrid theatre and 2 invasive/day surgery theatres, a level 3 intensive care unit, 181 overnight beds and 59 daybeds. The Oncology unit has 18 private en-suite beds where they focus on different cancers, such as: brain, pancreatic, cervical, head & neck, bowel, lung, prostate, bladder, neuroendocrine, skin and uterine.

They are looking for a full-time permanent position to be filled! You will need to be flexible to work shifts over the course of Monday – Sunday, on a rotation of covering long days, nights and weekends.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible and focus for individualised patient care
  • Facilitate the provision of a co-ordinated high quality inpatient service to all cancer patients
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Competent in administering all SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy)
  • Be able to recognise life threatening and/or oncology emergencies
  • Record and update all nursing records accurately
  • Liaising with patients, families and colleagues
  • Maintain and promote all policies to the clinic and NMC

We are looking for you to be:

  • NMC Registered
  • Have a post registration course in Chemotherapy Administration/SACT Chemo sign-off is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided
  • Have previous experience of working in a UK acute hospital setting with oncology
  • Previous IV drug administration experience
