Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Day Patient & Endoscopy Unit
Permanent, Full time
Grade: Band 5
Salary: £34,876 – £40,434 BAR £41,544 – £44,981 per annum
Location: Guernsey
Pulse is working with the Channel Islands largest provider of health care. Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurse to join the nursing and multi-professional team within the Day Patient Unit.
The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment of the efficiency of service planning and delivery, as well as taking proactive steps to maintain quality, service improvement, and patient flow in a safe and comfortable setting.
The post holder will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to provide assistance in minor operations/procedures and endoscopy suite. In addition, pre-assessment will be part of the successful post holder’s duties. All staff will rotate to other areas of the department as required, within limitations of knowledge and skills.
The facilities consist of 19 bedded ward area with additional waiting area for ambulatory patients. A minor operation/ procedure room with 2 bedded post anaesthetic recovery unit and an Endoscopy Suite are part of the facility.

Requirements
- NMC registered nurse
- Evidence of CPD
- Adaptable to a fast paced environment and fast patient turnover
- Previous experience in a Day Surgery/ Endoscopy setting is desirable
Roles and responsibilities
- Provide safe clinical care of patients undergoing procedures
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs
- Ensure storage, checking and administration of medications is performed with NMC standards
- Liaise and advise greater multi-disciplinary team on issues relating to procedures, equipment and storage within HSC
- Provide clear and detailed handovers within the muti-disciplinary team
- Continue to professionally develop and increase knowledge base and skills required
