Position Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in delivering expert psychiatric assessment, treatment, and support to adults experiencing a range of mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery, well-being, and independence among adult service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adults presenting with various mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders.
  • Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice, and person-centered principles.
  • Provide psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention, to address the mental health needs of adult service users.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure integrated and holistic care for adult patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding measures to support the well-being and safety of adult service users.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of core training in psychiatry and relevant experience in adult psychiatry.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent professional body.
  • Excellent clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-working abilities.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adult service users.
