Senior Staff Nurse – Pre-Assessment

Location: Ashtead, Surrey, UK

Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 (annual) depending on experience

** Welcome Bonus / Relocation Allowance of £3600!

Role: Permanent, Full-time position

 

 

Pulse Nursing has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Staff Nurse to join a well-established hospital in their busy pre-assessment units!

 

The leading private hospital focuses on a wide range of different procedures such as full diagnostic and endoscopy procedures, orthopaedic surgery including spinal treatment and pain management, general surgery including spinal vein removal and hernia surgery, ophthalmology including eye laser surgery, gynaecology, urology and ear, nose and throat treatments. They also have 3 operating theatres all with laminar flow that support the best orthopaedic surgeries.

You will be facilitating the provision of a co-ordinated high quality inpatient service and working as part of a multidisciplinary team including clinical nurse specialists, clinic doctors, consultants and other health care professionals. You will be training junior staff and overlooking to ensure they maintain and promote all policies of the hospital and NMC. You will oversee all the nursing functions during your staff’s shift, including processing patients’ admissions and discharges.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Focus and prepare on pre-operative care for all patients
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of individualised patient care
  • Deliver and ensure patients’ environment is safe and effective
  • Ensure referrals are made to the appropriate professionals for further assessment or treatment

Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions 

  • Liaise with doctors, consultants, nurses and other health care professionals
  • Highlight discharge issues and act on if necessary
  • Follow the NMC/code of conduct/hospital policies to ensure high stanards of care
  • Supervise and support junior staff

 

We are looking for you to be:

  • NMC Registered
  • Previous clinical supervisory experience
  • Be part of the on-call rota for wards out of hours
