Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6)
Permanent, Full time
Grade: Band 6
Salary: £41,544 – £50,030 BAR £51,647 – £56,090 per annum
Location: Guernsey
Pulse is delighted to work in partnership with one of the largest hospitals in Guernsey to recruit a dedicated and motivated Senior Staff Nurse to provide high quality care in a modern, purpose-built facility. The facilities compromise of 8 acute care beds, 14 elderly care and minor injuries room.
The successful candidate will have a calm demeanour and work well in emergencies. They will be able to create, carry out and assess care plans that are tailored to patients individual needs.

Skills and experience
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Evidence of CPD at diploma level
- Post registration experience
- Leadership skills and experiences
- Teaching/ supervisory skills
- Successful completion of Preparation for Mentors course is desirable
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (D32/33, NVQ A1) is desirable
- Completion of an approved mentor preparation course at Level 2, or equivalent, or EMAP Teaching and Learning in Practice or City and Guilds 730 (Parts 1 & 2) Further Education Certificate is desirable
Roles and responsibilities
- Assess patients with complex care needs including patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions
- Implement and develop care programs to meet individual patient needs
- Initiate risk assessment processes to determine risks to health and wellbeing of patients
- Lead a team of staff in emergency and other acute situations
- Take lead in promotion of health and wellbeing of patients and their families
- Supervise staff working within the area
