Pulse is delighted to be cooperating with a beautiful hospice in Bedford, looking for a senior registered nurse. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to join the very friendly community team. If you are an enthusiastic and committed Senior registered nurse who is interested in a rewarding career within palliative care we’d like to hear from you!
As a senior registered nurse, the role is less patient faced and involves a 24 hour telephone support line, working alongside Nurse’s or Health Care Assistant’s. You will be responsible for providing palliative care support and advice to patients on the Palliative Care Hub register, their families and other care professionals whilst signposting to other agencies when required.
37.5 Hours per week (plus be part of our hospice 1st on call).
Usual shift pattern: 7.45am to 8.15pm – 30% enhancement for nights and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities of a senior registered nurse
- You will be required to have excellent assessment, planning, referral, implementation and evaluation skills.
- Ensure all patients receive hight standards on individual care.
- Support and lead some of the HCA’s as and when required.
- Be responsible for the allocation of the teams visits as and when required.
- Deal with telephone enquiries
Requirements of s senior registered nurse
- You will be an NMC registered nurse with post-registration in palliative care, end of life care.
- Palliative care knowledge and experience
- Excellent communication skills
- A knowledge of SystemOne would be an advantage.
