Description

Do you enjoy teaching ? Are you passionate about developing and supporting healthcare teams ? Do you have an interest in palliative care and end of life care ? If you answered yes to these, this is the job for you. We are currently looking for a Practice Educator on a permanent basis to work in a small hospice in Reading, Berkshire. The hospice is part of a large charity who provide expert palliative care and end of life care within a beautiful setting to thousands of locals each year. Playing an active role within the team, its all about giving patients the best possible quality of life for controlling their symptoms or providing end of life care. The support offered is tailored to meet individual needs, medically, socially and spiritually.

£38,247to £43,331 – Depending on experience

37.5 hours per week 

Location: Primarily based at the Hospice in Reading, South with an expectation cover of other sites in West Berkshire and South Oxfordshire

Driving licence and vehicle required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the educational training needs of the clinical healthcare workforce
  • Work closely with the Head of Quality and community services
  • Contribute towards the delivery of the organisational clinical education strategy and framework including facilitating learning in palliative care
  • Working knowledge of training needs analysis, planning and facilitation of adult based learning, mandatory and priority training requirements, different learning styles and application in delivering education and training is required for this post.
  • Working knowledge of clinical assessment of registered and non-registered staff is required.

Requirements  

  • You will be a registered nurse or AHP
  • Demonstrate practice supervisor or practice assessor training in an acute or community setting
