Description

Pulse is now seeking to recruit an Advanced Hand Therapist to join an innovative NHS trust in London.  This position is available to start 02.01.24, offering full-time hours per week with the placement due to end on 16.01.24.

The appointed candidate provide specialised assessment and treatment for hand therapy patients with complex needs and expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers, relatives, and other non-professionals. The post holder will be responsible for own caseload and a defined service area, working without direct supervision. Applying therapist must have Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy degree qualification as well as Significant post graduate Hand Therapy clinical experience treating a wide a range of hand and wrist conditions (trauma and non-trauma) and post-operative rehabilitation, including skills such as wound management, removal of sutures and thermoplastic splinting.

Duties will include:

  • Hand therapy for MSK outpatients
  • Splinting
  • Treating for repetitive strain injury
  • Treating symptoms of a chronic illness
  • Test and measure patient’s movements
