Pulse is now seeking a committed Occupational Therapist to work within special schools for an innovative private service in Surrey. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering 4 days per week on a permanent basis.
We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist, someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.
Active HCPC registration is required, as well as relevant post-registration experience working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, including children with Autism Spectrum Condition. Post-graduate knowledge and training in Sensory Integration therapy would be desirable however isn’t essential.
Some duties within this post will include:
- Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
- Fine motor assessments
- Managing own caseload efficiently
- Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals
Skills and experience needed:
- Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Previous experience working within a Paediatric service – Ideally NHS
- Encouraging attitude
- Ability to think outside the box
- Be compassionate and empathetic
- Good team work skills
